How to uninstall the Valorant skin preview tool — and Valorant itself
The preview tool is a single install folder plus an uninstall registry key. Removing the game itself is a two-step pass because Riot Vanguard runs as a kernel service.
Remove the skin preview tool
- Quit the tool from the system tray if it is running.
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps and locate "Valorant Skin Preview".
- Click Uninstall and confirm the prompt.
- Delete the install folder if anything is left — default is
C:\Program Files\VSP.
The tool never modifies the Riot client. Your real inventory, your VP balance and any skins you actually own remain whatever they were.
How to uninstall Valorant on Windows
Two uninstall passes are required because Riot Vanguard installs as a kernel-level service. Most "Valorant is gone but Vanguard still loads" complaints come from skipping the Vanguard pass.
- Uninstall Valorant via Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Valorant → Uninstall.
- Uninstall Riot Vanguard separately from the Installed apps list.
- Reboot Windows so the Vanguard driver releases from memory.
- Delete leftovers at
C:\ProgramData\Riot Gamesfor a fully clean state.
What stays behind
- Riot Client may remain if you have other Riot games installed.
- Local recordings and screenshots in your user folder are untouched.
- Cloud-side account data — every skin you actually own — is unaffected.
